Wyanbah is a special lagoon as it is the only Lagoon without any major modifications. Almost all other known lagoons have multiple forms of modification, most commonly drains or dams. Wyanbah has neither. It is also surrounded by some good quality remnant listed endangered tablelands montane woodlands. What is also special about Wyanbah is that it occurs on crown land within walking distance of Armidale. It is found opposite the Armidale Airport and is currently leased by the Armidale Showground Society and grazed occasionally. As one of the only examples of unmodified endangered upland wetlands and being within close proximity to a major population centre this lagoon should become better known and maybe even have some form of public access to this public piece of land.
